Core and Elective Courses

Kindergarten

Self-contained, vibrant classroom focused on working with a child’s natural development, not against it. While aware of the TEKS set forth for Kindergarten students in Texas, we believe our students can learn and grow in the skills needed through a hands-on curriculum. Using multiple brain-breaks, outdoor learning opportunities and age-appropriate lessons, students will develop a deep love for learning that does not produce anxiety but instead offers a challenging curriculum that encourages each child’s knowledge level and learning style to flourish. Math literacy, science, history and Bible lessons will be taught and evaluated but will not require standardized assessments. Our students will thrive from the teaching of both parent and FPA teacher while benefitting from socializing with their peers. Electives will be offered in a rotation during the year including P.E., art, and drama. Kindergarten is a critical year for students to develop a love for learning, literacy and the Lord. Therefore, we believe it is important that they attend school on Monday, Wednesday, and half-day on Fridays. This gives us enough on-one with our students while partnering with parents to ensure a high-level educational experience.

Parent Role: The primary years require more hands-on involvement from parents during the Tuesday and Thursday satellite days. Students benefit from one-on-one personal instruction from their parents to solidify the concepts they are learning in the classroom.
